Shannon, an Oceanside middle schooler, wrote a fascinating story and won the Crying Cougar Press writing contest.
The main judge for the contest, Kevin Gerard, author of the popular fantasy adventure series, Conor and the Crossworlds, liked Shannon's character development best of all.
"She has a knack of springing some very compelling characters on you when you least expect it," said Gerard.
Dozens of Conor and the Crossworlds fans entered stories on the popular website, TextNovel, where Crying Cougar Press officials judged the writing.
"It gives young writers a chance to express themselves,"
Shannon received all four books in the Conor and the Crossworlds series, signed by the author of course. Mr. Gerard cautions young writers across the nation to watch the website for more great contests. http://www.conorandthecrossworlds.com
