Cross-USA Rollerblade for Charity Coming to Texas this Week

Feb. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- BEAUMONT, Texas – On Saturday, February 27, two athletes will rollerblade into Texas from Louisiana as part of a national fundraising campaign before continuing their journey towards San Diego, California. In their project called In Motion For A Million, the athletes are rollerblading across the USA in an attempt to raise one million dollars for Huntington’s Disease Society of America and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  The team has already raised several thousands of dollars since the kick off on February 1, 2010, in St. Augustine, Florida.

Even though the road conditions have been trying, participant and co-founder of In Motion For A Million Steven Feigenbaum pushes on.  “Both of us have lost someone very close to us to both Huntington's and Lymphoma.  There have been some road closures we weren't expecting and road conditions that are extremely difficult to skate over but it doesn't matter.  We are fueled by the people we meet along the way who care as much as we do and right now we are pushing 60 miles a day!"

The athletes plan to pass through Bon Wier to Bleakwood and Kirbyville before stopping for a rest in Buna.  On February 28th, they will continue through Silsbee, Kountze, Honey Island and Thicket before resting in Romayor.  On February 29, they will skate through Dolen, Sheperd, Coldspring, Evergreen and Pumpkin as they head for New Waverly.
