There’s been a new animated cartoon recently posted on youtube that has cought the attention of many web surfers and the likes of major celebrities and media networks. The makers of the first ever mafia related animated series, which is a cross between “Family Guy” and “The Sopranos”, are taking on “The Cannolis”, a tale of two families “as American as Red, White, Black & Blue”.
All the characters in the Cannolis are named after Italian foods. The main characters include Dominic Cannoli, his wife, four children and his mother who live in New York City’s Little Italy.
Dominic runs the Club Paisan for Mr. Antonio Tortellini (AKA Tonio), the Boss of the Tortellini crime family and owner of the Club Paisan. Mr. Tortellini portrays himself as an honorable, legitimate businessman;
The two families’ everyday interaction with each other and the surrounding neighborhood characters are the foundation for never-ending humorous situations and twisted plotlines.
The show’s core will be structured on parodies of MAFIA movies, television shows, books and actual historic and/or current events. One of the first animated short’s for The Cannolis centers around Health Care. This clip features Obama meeting with a witchdoctor to resurrect the ghost of Ted Kennedy to ask his advice on the current health-care issue. Ted recommends that the President meet with Mr. Tortellini to get the help he needs. After meeting with Mr. Tortellini, the following scene shows Glen Beck changing his position on Obama’s health care policies.
This first skit is not only timely, it’s sure to spread quickly on the Internet through mainstream social media channels before being picked up on a major network in the near future. The cartoon’s theme and ability to cross multiple age and gender demographics are truly an explosive combination.
With the recent popularity of “The Soprano’s”
We can only wait and see what comes next out of The Cannolis, a brand new animated series that is sure to take the major networks by storm. To view the most recent Cannoli clip visit their website: http://www.theCannolis.com and click on VIDEOS or visit Youtube:
