Biathlete Lanny Barnes clocked the best American women’s biathlon finish in 16 years, finishing 23rd in the 15-kilometer Individual biathlon on February 23. She hit all 20 targets scoring the fastest and most accurate shooting of all competitors for the day.
Outdoor clothing company, Northern Outfitters, is sponsoring Barnes in her 2010 bid for the gold. She is competing in a number of 2010 Olympics biathlon events in Vancouver.
"We are extremely proud to sponsor this world-class competitor,"
For years, Northern Outfitters has sponsored both Lanny and Tracy Barnes, identical twins and world-class biathletes from Durango, Colorado. This year Lanny competed in Vancouver, while Tracy, who narrowly missed the Olympics team due to poor conditions at the trials, represented the United States in European Cup races in the Czech Republic.
"We are honored to sponsor these two outstanding athletes," said Harrison. "While many of the competitors were forced to deal with the ever-changing weather conditions in Vancouver, Lanny was relaxed and comfortable in her Northern Outfitters parka, snow pants and boots."

"I was extremely excited for another opportunity to compete for Northern Outfitters, as well as the United States," Barnes said.
"Northern Outfitters isn't just for world class athletes like Lanny - it's made for anyone who braves cold temperatures and hates being cold," Harrison explained. "Our complete clothing system will be the last cold weather gear you ever purchase." This parka system is sold exclusively at this site http://northernoutfitters.com/
"It's that good. It's why world class athletes and mushers in the Iditarod sled dog race trust us to keep them safe, either training or spending all night in a snowstorm when survival depends on staying warm and alert,"
Harrison said.
