LAS VEGAS, NV—The Farrah Gray Publishing Company has been forced to defend itself against the smear campaign by Ky-Mani Marley’s outright denial of his authored memoir “Dear Dad: Where's The Family In Our Family, Today?” beginning the day of its release on Feb. 6, which coincided with Bob Marley's 65th birthday.
Ky-Mani’s interview with The Gleaner, a Jamaican newspaper, and his public statements posted on his Facebook and MySpace pages, has clearly thrown me under the bus, according to Dr. Farrah Gray, the publisher.
Ky-Mani Marley was happy with his book before the Marley family intimidation started, for him to make changes or to keep the book from coming out. At that point, the publisher was caught off-guard in the crossfire of the family politics, receiving frantic emails and calls regarding Marley family members being outraged by the idea that the truths of his story would become public, preferring instead that it remained in the family lock box.
“I didn’t write his book, I published it. This is his story; these are his words,'' states Gray.
The Farrah Gray Publishing Company believes the best way to put the Ky-Mani Marley denial controversy to rest would be to release the tapes of the interviews to the media, which will reveal explicit, sharply expressive and intimate details of his life and Marley family members that were far worse than those he edited out of the book.
