Green Training Comes to Northern California

Feb. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- An Elk Grove-based company, the Green Professional Training Center, recently launched to assist individuals who are eager to join the green revolution. Whether you strive to be a solar energy and photovoltaic specialist, a green-building professional or something else, the center will prepare you for a green-collar career, while promoting America's clean-energy future.

"We wanted to make a one-stop hub where people can come for training and education in a variety of fields," said President Edward Cornejo. "We hope to make sustainable-building practices and energy efficiency as common as installing drywall."

The center offers training programs for those people interested in a career as any of the following: Building Performance Institute analyst, LEED Accredited Professional, green-building specialist, hazardous materials removal workers, residential green-building specialist, solar thermal/photovoltaic professional, thermographer, weatherization specialist or wind-energy specialist.

Now is the time to join the green movement, as President Obama has shown his administration's commitment to increasing employment opportunities in the green economy, by pouring billions of dollars into green-training programs and clean-energy development, as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The Green Professional Training Center's president and founder, Edward Cornejo, has been active in the building industry most of his life, having grown up in a household of a general contractor and real estate. Cornejo has more than 20 years of experience with construction-management development and planning, a considerable amount of which involved working on energy-efficient and water-efficient buildings, stormwater management, pollution prevention, wetlands and habitat restoration, and environmental remediation..

Two years ago, Cornejo assembled a group of project managers, LEED APs and building scientists to pull their collective experience and knowledge into designing training programs. That's how the Green Professional Training Center was born. With training locations throughout North America, the center provides comprehensive training, which includes on-site sessions, live webinar training, and speaking and business consulting services for organizations worldwide.
