IMVU, an online community where members use 3D avatars to meet new people, chat, create and play, today announced plans to double the number of employees by the end of 2010. In order to accommodate its growing employee base, the company this week moved its headquarters to larger office space in downtown Palo Alto, CA.
“This is an exciting time for all of us at IMVU,” said Cary Rosenzweig, CEO of IMVU. “We began 2010 with 60 employees and by the end of year we anticipate more than doubling that number. Bringing more team members will allow us to invest back into the business and to offer an even better customer experience.”
In October 2009, IMVU announced that it had reached an annualized revenue run rate of $25 million and had achieved profitability. As the company’s business continues to grow rapidly, expanding the team and office space is necessary to provide its users with an even more engaging and entertaining experience online. IMVU this week moved into office space at 164 Hamilton Avenue in Palo Alto, formerly occupied by Facebook.
