Cross-USA Rollerblade for Charity Rolling Through Last Few Louisiana Cities

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 23, 2010 - VILLE PLATTE, Louisiana – Two athletes are quickly making their way across Louisiana as part of a national fundraising campaign before continuing their journey towards San Diego, California. In their project called In Motion For A Million, the athletes are rollerblading across the USA in an attempt to raise one million dollars for Huntington’s Disease Society of America and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  The team is currently in route to Ville Platte.

For Dan Bowen, co-founder of In Motion For A Million, the project has personal meaning as he lost his mother to Lymphoma in 1985.  “This journey is more than just raising one million dollars.  For me, if I can inspire every person I meet along the way to take a stand against these horrific diseases, in whatever way they can, then I will have succeeded.  In Motion For A Million is a way for everyone, all Americans, to work together and make a difference."

The team has already raised several thousand dollars in donations since their kick off in St. Augustine, Florida, on February 1, 2010.

The athletes will be crossing through the following cities while finishing their tour of Louisiana: Washington, Grand Prairie, Ville Platte, Mamou, Oberlin and Mittie.  The team expects to spend the night in De Ridder on February 25 if they stay on track without delays.  The athletes will journey on through their last stop in Merryvale as they make their way into Texas on February 26.
