The goddess Nv Wa noticed the world was lonely without human beings.She decided to add life and beauty to the world .When she saw her own figure reflected in the lake water,she set about making man with clay as herself .She shaped little figures by hand and breathed life into them.As soon as they left her hand and touched the ground,they cheered and breathed life into them.These figurines were the first group of men and women.Though she went about the work day and night,it was still slow work.She had an idea to speed up her work by dipping a rattan into the mud around her and flung it about . The muddrops fell and turned into humans instantly.The cheerful and colorful wold didn’t last long because many of he humans made by her aged and died.It might be possible for her to compensate for the rapid death rate. Another idea came into her mind:why not make them mate and bear children by themselves?She summoned young men and women and let them chase and play with each other.Every spring turned to be a season of joy,courtship and marriage.Families were set up in this way and children were nursed and reated.Human being beings continue to live on the earth.
