In a time when other businesses are closing their doors, Skyraider Aviation, Inc has entered an agreement with Alpine Hangar Group, LLC and the Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority to expand its business to Centennial Airport. Skyraider Aviation will begin flight training and aircraft rental at its new location on March 1st. Combined with Skyraider Aviation's existing location at the Erie Municipal Airport north of Denver, this second location on the south side will make Sport Pilot flight training and Light Sport Aircraft rental easily accessible to anyone in the greater Denver/Boulder metro area.
"We've had our eye on Centennial Airport for a couple years now", stated Christopher Dillis, President of Skyraider Aviation, Inc. "It is consistently ranked one of the top 5 busiest general aviation airports in the country, and we wanted to tap into that energy." Skyraider Aviation will initially be operating a single Gobosh 700 Light Sport Aircraft at its new location. The Gobosh is widely considered to be one of the best Light Sport Aircraft available, especially for flight training. Its rugged construction and exceptional performance make it uniquely suited for the rigors of student training.
Skyraider Aviation, established in 2006 at the Erie Municipal Airport is the first flight school in Colorado to offer training specifically for the revolutionary new Sport Pilot license. Created in September 2004, the Sport Pilot license is meant to make the dream of flight accessible to the masses. By reducing the training requirements and adding some restrictions, the Sport Pilot program makes it possible to earn a pilots license in as few as 20 flight hours and for as little as $3,500. An additional benefit of the Sport Pilot license is that it does not require an FAA medical exam, opening the door to pilots who could otherwise be medically disqualified from flying. The many advantages of the Sport Pilot/Light Sport Aircraft program, have made it the fastest growing segment of general aviation.
