Feb. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Do you wish to raise your child bilingually? Did you know that your child was born with the gift of learning foreign languages? Yes, they did and you should take advantage of it as soon as possible.

Smarty Ears released a new teaching method to expose babies to the sounds of a foreign language. The application is called “My Bilingual Baby” and it has already sold hundreds of copies all around the world. The special “thing” about this app is that is not just one more app, this is a teaching method designed by a child language specialist. Smarty Ears’ first language is Spanish however, they plan on releasing this app in a variety of other languages around the world.

“My Bilingual Baby” can be utilized by children of any age starting as soon as a few weeks from birth. “My bilingual baby © provides the baby with exposure to the sounds of the language. All phonemes of the language have been carefully selected and presented in al positions of the word: Initial, medial and final positions. The baby is exposed to phonemically balanced words.

There are several key components of this application besides the use of phonemically balanced words. One of the menu options is called “Polar Opposite Sounds”. These are pairs of words that are similar in its structure with the exception of word phoneme in the language. This will teach babies that the change in one feature of one sound can change the entire meaning of the word.

One amazing feature is that the phonemically balanced words are also presented to the child at the phrase level. The child will get familiarized with the intonation of the Spanish language and be exposed to a variety of grammatical features of the language. The baby will learn that each language has a different intonation and speech pattern.

The goal here is to expose the child to all sounds of the language as soon as possible as to prevent the loss of the child’s natural ability to learn a foreign language. Smarty Ears’ developers believe that the children exposed to this method will have an easier time learning the language later in life and will sound more like a native when speaking the foreign language.

One of the options on “My Bilingual Baby” is the ability to automatically play the sounds with the feature “Play All”; this way parents can place the iPhone or iPod touch next to the baby while they relax, take a bath or fall asleep listening to the sounds of the language.

This is a great chance – for a great price – to provide your child with exposure to the sounds of the Spanish language. For more information on this amazing teaching method as well as to learn more about how to provide your child with opportunities to become bilingual visit the website:
