TAMPA – In a outcome that shocked many media observers, U.S. Representative Ron Paul (R-TX) defeated high-profile rivals Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, and Mike Huckabee to win the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) presidential straw poll on Saturday. Libertarian U.S. Senate candidate Alex Snitker said he was "not surprised" by Ron Paul’s win. “This is another victory for the libertarian principles of Constitutional conservatism and individual liberty,” Snitker told supporters after a campaign stop in Tampa, Florida.
