CelPog Announces First Text Message Platform Designed to Capture Political Campaign Contributions

CelPog launches a solution that allows political campaigns to solicit pledges, receive contributions, update voters on issues, solicit additional contributions, and urge voter turnout - all using its mobile payment platofrm.

New York – February 22, 2010

In recognition of the need for reliable and inexpensive ways to solicit campaign pledges, payment solution company CelPog has modified and adapted its mobile phone based payment platform to allow supporters to pledge and pay campaign contributions via cell phones. With the new CelPog Campaign 2010 service, SMS, more commonly known as “Text Messaging” is now an essential tool for soliciting contributions as candidates travel the hectic campaign trail.

The new CelPog platform will allow supporters at a political event to make a pledge by simply texting the candidate’s name and the donation amount; for example, text “Smith 25”, and CelPog will record a $25.00 political campaign pledge from the donor’s cell number to the Smith campaign.  The donor then receives a text message reply with a link where he/she goes to complete the payment.  This link can be accessed immediately on any Smartphone or it can be accessed online.  Payments can be made by credit card or donors can be directed as to mailing a check.

“Campaign 2010 presents us with the opportunity to provide an entirely new range of political fundraising tools and CelPog is ready to lead the way,” according to Jacques Blinbaum, founder of CelPog.

“CelPog’s Campaign 2010 technology goes far beyond this simple first phase.  As the pledge is made and later paid we build a file on the individual donor which can later be used for a wide range of follow up opportunities. Our goal is to allow candidates to build an ongoing relationship with supporters so that voters can be kept updated on important developments, solicited for additional support, and encouraged to go to the polls and vote.”

CelPog’s platform is being provided on a “fee per pledge” basis with no minimum maintenance charges.

CelPog also provides solutions for charitable organizations to collect charitable pledges using Text Messaging as well as a free platform that allows individuals to make payments, track debts, and share expenses using cell phones.

CelPog’s proprietary technology was independently developed. It is currently available at www.CelPog.com.
