APSI & it's Mike Minter Workforce Development Program will be offering high demand Broadband and Satellite Courses in the Winston-Salem, NC market. Early last week, Sr. Vice President Marvin Kelley was notified that APSI is now approved to offer its Broadband Fiber Optics and Broadband Satellite Courses to the unemployed, dislocated and military veterans who qualify for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) benefits in the Winston-Salem, NC market. "We are truly excited to be able to help the residents of Winston-Salem region. We have received a lot of request from that area and it feels good knowing now we can help them with their continued education. This is a industry that is growing each and every day and our graduates can take advantage of the market upside and opportunities. We are working hard at adding programs to our catalog that lead to jobs and these two programs do that." said Mr. Marvin Kelley.
The Broadband Fiber Optics Program is a 80-hour course that includes 50% theory and 50% hands-on instruction. It is designed for individuals with no experience as well as those who have many years of experience in the technology field. Students who pass the examination for this course will receive two (2) globally recognized certification credentials and could qualify graduates for entry level jobs in the CATV, AV, Broadband, Fiber Optics, Voice/Data, Security, Premise Cabling and others.
The Broadband Satellite Program is a brand new 40-hour course designed for the individual who is interested in installing new satellite technology and equipment. The Broadband Satellite Course comes with one (1) globally recognized certification credential and could qualify graduates for entry level jobs with DirectTV, Dish Networks, Hughes Network and other companies in the the industry.
APSI is preparing to implement these two programs in the Winston-Salem market as early as March 2010.
