What better way is there to examine the complex family dynamic between mother and daughters than to drop them in a foreign land and push their hormone levels through the roof? Credit filmmaker Alexis Niki for finding the right mix of drama, comedy and sisterhood in her new film, "My Bitchy Witchy Paris Vacation." Set in Paris, France, MBWPV allows the audience a voyeuristic view into an American family's life. The three main characters, a menopausal mom, pregnant daughter and adolescent daughter take us on a epic journey of global proportions, but never strays far from home.
BITCHY WITCHY tells the tale of a late-blooming American teen who travels to Paris with her menopausal mom and her pregnant sister. Cultures and hormones clash. Writer Alexis Niki has penned a story that on the surface is about female hormones and how they seemingly define women. But ultimately BITCHY WITCHY is about the pain and anxiety of the transitions we all go through. “There's a lot of humor when we're faced with change,” Niki says. “Change happens both too slowly and too quickly for our taste. The fast pacing of a series is ideal for heightening that feeling of uncertainty we all experience.”
Niki, an American living in Paris, is a consultant for Pavaline Studios in New York as well as for the international film association DreamAgo. She is also the author of the book 101 SCREENWRITING TIPS. Niki raised funds for Bitchy Witchy through local and international donations. The production team includes the who's-who of international independent film talent including Director Kartik Singh, producer Timothy Jay Smith and consulting producer Angelo Bell.
The cast of Bitchy Witchy spans three generations:
