Rainforest Life, launching at the Zoo in March, brings visitors the wonder of Earth’s very own rainforest – in amazing better-than-
Sloths, tamarins, hairy armadillos, sun bitterns and tree anteaters will be among forest species to roam around London’s only living rainforest, in harmony with exotic living trumpet trees and yellow rattle shaker plants.
Visitors to the Rainforest Life experience – which opens in March – will be immersed in the sights, smells and sounds of the rainforest as soon as they arrive, giving them an encounter far more breathtaking than the amazing 3D scenes in Avatar.
Zoological Director David Field said: “If people feel inspired by the world of Pandora depicted in Avatar that’s great, but they should not forget that the ecosystems we have on earth are no less breathtaking.
“Rainforest Life will give people a real taste of the rainforest, far superior to 3D film, and we hope to inspire them to protect the forests we have left on Earth. They are amazing, but they are disappearing fast.”
