Nick Jr. and Entertainment Store Group and are proud to announce a special charity performance of NICK JR.’s DORA THE EXPLORER LIVE! SEARCH FOR THE CITY OF LOST TOYS will be held to benefit Camp Quality kids, on Thursday March 11 at 1.00pm at the Arts Centre, State Theatre, Melbourne.

2010 marks the 10th anniversary year of Dora the Explorer, and this little Latina character, loved by little people all over the world, is the #1 preschool brand in Australia and also the #1 preschool program watched by children under the age of four across all pay TV channels in Australia. To celebrate the phenomenal success of Dora in this country, and to launch the new national live show, Nick Jr. and Entertainment Store Group are holding a special benefit performance to raise money for Camp Quality kids. A portion of the Camp Quality Reserve ticket sales will be donated to the charity, in addition to proceeds from a special Dora the Explorer silent auction on the day.

Alison Bakunowich, Marketing and Commercial Partnerships Director for Nickelodeon Australia, said Camp Quality was a very worthy cause and a lovely fit for the benefit performance. “The positive, courageous and adventurous spirit of Camp Quality is shared by the character of Dora the Explorer, and these traits send a great message to all young kids,” said Bakunowich.
Cheryll Olmos, Partnerships Manager for Camp Quality said, “We are thrilled to be working with Nickelodeon and Dora the Explorer. Here at Camp Quality we believe in bringing fun therapy to kids living with cancer and their families, and Nickelodeon is the perfect fit for this. We both believe that laughter is the best medicine,” said Olmos.

Creator of Dora the Explorer and Writer of the new live show, Chris Gifford is extremely passionate about Dora being able to help kids, and is looking forward to attending the Camp Quality benefit during his visit to Australia from the U.S. next month.
