If your a Knicks fan then you have been bombarded with the phrase “summer of 2010″ during this rebuilding process. The summer of 2010 is when several marquee NBA players are free to sign with another team. This group, headlined by Lebron James, also includes Dwayne Wade, Joe Johnson, Amare Stoudemire, Paul Pierce, Carlos Boozer, and Chris Bosh among others. The long suffering New York Knicks brought in team president Donnie Walsh for one reason, to get the Knicks under the salary cap to the point where they would be in position to sign not one but two of these players. With the trade for Tracy McGrady and his expiring contract, the Knicks now have phase one complete. The Knicks successfully shed salary by getting rid of Jared Jeffries and Nate Robinson and will now target Lebron James and another free agent such as Chris Bosh. It will be tough to convince Lebron to leave his hometown Cavaliers but the bright lights of the big apple and the opportunity to play in the mecca of all basketball arenas just might be enough. http://www.sportsbetting.ws just posted the odds for which team Lebron will be playing for next year. Cleveland Cavaliers -300 New York Knicks +225 New Jersey Nets +1000
Detroit Pistons +2000
