Kerala’s first International Spa Training Academy opens
Kodungalloor, February, 20 2010: The first international Spa Training Academy in Kerala, “SpaED Spa Academy” opens in Kodungallur in Thrissur district. Promoted by the Spa Management Consortium, Spaveda, the Academy will be conducting a six month long hands-on training in Spa Therapy and Management including two months internship in leading Spas which is much in demand in the booming tourism industry in the country and abroad.
In an effort to meet the demand for trained professionals in the field, the Academy’s promoters have roped in the best trainers in the industry in India and abroad to impart the required skills for the industry.

We are striving for holistic wellness through combining Indian wellness philosophy with international healing modalities. The courses are tailored to equip the students for the international market with huge potential in the tourism sector says Mr. Shine who has managed Spas in Southeast Asia and West Asia.
The SpaEd programmes cover subjects varying from therapeutic aspects, wellness and relaxation to housekeeping, grooming and spa management skills. The courses are initially for students with science background and for professionals with a paramedical or alternative medical qualitfication such as BAMS, BHMS, BPT, BPed at a later stage. The certificates are accredited with internationally recognized Spa Training certifications.
SpaED : SpaED offers two programs. SpaED certified Therapist and SpaED certified specialist Therapist. Fifteen students per batch will be admitted in each course. The program duration is 6 months in which the student will spend 4 months at the Academy and 2 months in our resort spas as trainee therapists.
