Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont. offers two graduate-level online courses in sport science beginning March 1. The courses are ideal for students, athletes and professionals in coaching, exercise science, kinesiology, health and human development, athletic training, sports medicine and allied health programs. Each science-based course offers three graduate credits and is offered fully online.
In "Sport Physiology" (HHD 550-01) participants will study the muscular, neuromuscular, cardio-respiratory, and endocrine systems during physical performance. They will also examine nutrition, ergogenic aids, body composition, weight control, temperature regulation and other aspects of athletic training and sports conditioning.
"Sport Nutrition" (HHD 551-01) covers nutritional recommendations for improved physical performance;
The instructor is Michael Meyers, PhD., FACSM, adjunct professor in the Department of Health and Human Development at Montana State University. Dr. Meyers is a Fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine, Past-President of the Texas Regional Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine, and recognized on the Sport Psychology Registry, United States Olympic Committee.
