EXCLUSIVE: Camping World supports new outdoor brand Surviva and the Surviva Jak

Camping World is excited to stock and review the Surviva Jak - a great new invention for emergency survival gear, ideal for preventing shock and hypothermia during all outdoor activities

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb 19, 2010 -
Surviva has combined space age technology with practicality and created the Surviva Jak, a unique survival tool designed to prevent hypothermia and shock whilst still allowing unrestricted movement and heat generation. Camping World understands that it helps to be prepared - having examined and tested the new Surviva Jak we are proud to support this innovative new emergency equipment, and excited to announce that we will be stocking the Surviva Jak in store and online.

Review

Surviva is an emerging outdoor brand leading the way in changing the direction of traditional survival gear. Building on the excellent properties of the emergency foil blanket Surviva have engineered a product which utilises the material's technology, but adds to the potential by allowing the wearer to create more of their own body heat, thereby maximising the thermal protection offered by the material.

The innovative jacket design allows the user to put on and wear the Surviva Jak as a jacket, and so remain protected whilst moving and generating essential body heat. Unlike the standard emergency foil blanket, the Surviva Jak allows the wearer to stay active and reflects internal heat from the torso, arms and head back to the wearer, radiating a massive 90% body heat when worn correctly. The integral hood prevents heat loss from the head, whilst high visibility re-sealable stocky fasteners save precious seconds when putting the jacket on.

Designed as a single use jacket, the Surviva Jak comes in a handy waterproof vacuum packs and weighs just 60g making it an ideal emergency accessory - perfect for walking, climbing, hiking, watersports, running, first aid team, skiing, school groups or simply to keep in the car in case of a break down at night or in the winter.

Overall we think the Surviva Jak is an incredibly simple to use, effective and intelligently designed product, ideal for all outdoor activities where people may be at risk due to falling temperatures. School groups, water activities, sailing, hiking, camping and winter sports are just a few of the outdoor pursuits where we believe that having a Surviva Jak to hand could conceivably save a life.
