On February 17, 2010 Pine Brook Care Center held a benefit concert to assist with the relief efforts in Haiti. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event benefit the American Red Cross to help rush life-saving relief supplies to children and families devastated by the earthquake and aftershocks in Haiti.
Over thirty of our employees are from Haiti and were deeply affected by this tragedy. Their dedication and service are greatly appreciated and we sought to do something to show them how much we care. It was magnificent to see the community bond together to help in this time of great need. The ownership gave monetary gifts to each of our individual Haitian employees. The Mayor of Manalapan and Miss New Jersey came to show support in addition to the Red Cross who accepted donations and provided information about the relief efforts. A number of local businesses donated gifts to raise money and awareness; local performers donated their time and services; and The Center for Therapeutic Massage provided free massages for the duration of the event.
To paraphrase President Obama “Progress comes when we open our hearts, when we extend hands, when we recognize our common humanity. Progress comes when we look into the eyes of another and see the face of God. That we might do so - that we will do so all the time, not just some of the time - is my fervent prayer for our nation and the world.”
Pine Brook Care Center would like to thank everyone involved in making this a most memorable event and touching the hearts and lives of those affected by this disaster. Overall it was a huge success and we are pleased to help our employees and the cause in some small way.
