Paulina Morris is about to go on the most important job interview of her life: The Phoenix Republican will announce her candidacy for Congress at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 18 in front of the Arizona State Capitol.
Elected in 2004 to the Maricopa County Special Health Care District Board of Directors to represent essentially the same district by more than 62,000 concerned voters. In 2008, when her pledge to the people of her district was fulfilled, the first-generation Cuban-American did not run for re-election. Another term wasn't necessary because she listened to her constituents, executed her conservative philosophy and helped give the ailing health system a clean bill of fiscal health in only four years.
