The New Jersey Business Hall of Fame™ (NJBHOF), honoring business leaders who serve as exemplary role models to New Jersey’s youth, today announced the NJBHOF Class of 2010.

The 2010 Laureates are:

Lucia DiNapoli Gibbons, Regional President, Northern NJ, Wachovia, A Wells Fargo Company
Richard Miller, President/CEO, Virtua
Irvin Richter, Chairman/CEO, Hill International
Paul Silverman, Partner, Exeter Property Company

A Laureate induction into the New Jersey Business Hall of Fame™ is a lifetime achievement award for individuals making a significant, positive impact on New Jersey. Inductees consistently demonstrated throughout their professional lives high ethical standards, mentorship, community involvement and innovative leadership.

“Laureates serve as role models for the next generation of New Jersey’s business leaders and I am pleased to welcome these four deserving individuals into the NJBHOF,” said Dave Weaving, the Event Chair, member of the JANJ State Board of Directors, and Chief Administrative Officer of Realogy Corporation.

“I am extremely honored to be the recipient of this recognition from Junior Achievement. I believe it is critically important for our future as a nation to prepare the next generation to enter the workforce, be productive and take our organizations to the next level. The future is in the hands of our youth, and we must invest in them to ensure that future,” said Richard P. Miller, President and CEO of Virtua.

The NJBHOF Class of ’10 will be inducted on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at The Mezzanine (744 Broad Street, Newark, NJ), where they will be presented awards of recognition and introduced by youth from Newark’s Lincoln School, all of whom are Junior Achievement students. The students will present along side a person of significance in the lives of each honoree.  The event begins with a Laureate Meet and Greet cocktail reception, and by 7:00 pm, the awards presentation with dinner will commence.

"It is a special honor, indeed, to join this and previous years' Laureates in the New Jersey Business Hall of Fame," said Lucia DiNapoli Gibbons, Northern New Jersey Regional President for Wachovia, A Wells Fargo Company; "but I am most mindful of the fact that this award is given to people who are role models for our youth.  That is a responsibility I take very seriously, and this will be a constant reminder of that obligation."

NJBHOF’s three partnering organizations – Junior Achievement of NJ (JANJ), The Star-Ledger, and the New Jersey Business & Industry Association are thrilled to have Verizon, for the fourth consecutive year, as the Title Sponsor of the event with Continental Airlines as the Official Airline Sponsor. “We commend the 2010 Laureates for their outstanding contributions to this community,” said John LeBaron, Senior Director of Sales for the Eastern Division of Continental Airlines.  “With our hub at Newark Liberty International Airport serving more nonstop international destinations from the area than any other carrier, we know what it takes to build a winning team.”  In addition to the lead sponsors, other supporters include: Accenture, Allstate New Jersey Insurance Company, ATC, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, HSBC Insurance-North America, Johnson & Johnson, Lockheed Martin, The Provident Bank, PSEG and Realogy.

The online, silent and live auctions will have an array of items for everyone to bid on including “Get Out and About in NJ”, a full category dedicated to NJ’s businesses.  Donations for the auction are now being accepted. The online site will be open for bidding on April 1st at www.biddingforgood.com/njbhof/2010.

Proceeds from this black-tie optional event will help support JA’s much needed and requested financial literacy education programs for underserved, disadvantaged youth in NJ.

To officially announce the 2010 Laureates, a Meet & Greet Press Conference is being held on March 25, 2010 at 9:30 am at the event site of The Mezzanine, 744 Broad Street, Newark.
