SWCRC interim president, Sandy Mull announced its new "Green Leaders" recognition program for members this week. Members who actively seek ways to protect the environment through their daily business tasks will now be deemed SWCRC "Green Leaders". A SWCRC member must demonstrate 80% of the following activities as well as complete a form that will be reviewed by the Greening committee to be considered.
(25%) Implements conservation strategies such as recycling, energy efficiency and water conservation
(20%) Use eco-friendly promotion or products
(20%) Use local products made or grown locally
(10%) Plant trees and native plants
(10%) Use alternative energy such as solar, wind and geothermal
(15%) Other environmentally sound practice
Members will receive a biodegradable Green Leader sticker to promote in their business and will be promoted on the Chamber's web site, e-zine and news releases.
