Ikanos Consulting today announced that their Threemote software will be embedded onto a new hardware platform: the Golden-i from Kopin Corporation. With Bluetooth connectivity and the Threemote software from Ikanos, Golden-I users will be able to control software on their Windows PC like Microsoft PowerPoint, Windows Media Player, and iTunes.
“Threemote is a powerful enhancement for the Golden-I device, bringing crucial connectivity and control of PCs in Bluetooth range,” said Chris Parkinson of Kopin Corporation. “With Threemote and Golden-i, enterprise and vertical market users will be able to hook in to important productivity applications on the PC like Office Mail, Contacts and Calendar”.
Golden-i is a voice-operated head-mounted computer with micro-display based on Windows CE Embedded. Threemote is a customisable, componentised software application for remote control of a PC and embedded on the Golden-i head-mounted computer. Threemote is available on Windows Mobile, Android, and CE Embedded, and will soon be available on Nintendo DS, Blackberry and Windows Phone 7 Series. Its modular architecture means it can be expanded beyond Windows PC remote control to connections with other desktop platforms and even z-wave and consumer electronics control.
