Steve Wiebe Regains Donkey Kong Junior World Record

Famed gamer takes back the top spot from Oklahoma gamer on classic arcade title

The man who rose to a household name after the semi-documentary film The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters has regained a World Record score.

Washington's Steve Wiebe is now back on top of the Donkey Kong Junior scoreboard, as Twin Galaxies has announced Steve's new mark of 1,190,400 points as the new official World Record, beating Oklahoma gamer Mark Kiehl, who had beaten Wiebe for the record last October.

Wiebe had previously gained the Donkey Kong Junior World Record in the spring of 2009, beating Ike Hall, according to an Examiner.com columnist: http://www.tinyurl.com/yc8xhjc

Mr. Wiebe rose to fame after the "King of Kong" film, and has since appeared on G4tv to take a shot at the Donkey Kong World Record on live television, appeared in hit film "Four Christmases", and even saw an episode of Fox's "Bones" draw from the King of Kong plot.

Twin Galaxies tracks high scores and fastest times on a variety of video gaming platforms, including modern hits for the Nintendo Wii, XBox 360, and PlayStation 3.  They recently announced on TwinGalaxies.com that they were the chosen orgnization to decide the winner of 2KSports $1 Million prize contest on the upcoming MLB 2K10 video game, and scores from Twin Galaxies are used for Guinness World Records publications.
