Lafarge, the world-leader in innovative concrete solutions, has launched ‘Readymix Month’ in February. The month features a range of events that celebrates and promotes concrete innovation; sees a number of housekeeping, waste and service improvements at many of Lafarge’s UK Readymix sites and, importantly, enable customers, from DIYers to contractors and partners, to win a concrete delivery each week during February!
Readymix month began on the 1st February with the launch of the competition, across the UK. The competition enables customers to win up to 4m³ of concrete, including Lafarge’s innovative self-compacting concrete Agilia™ or its decorative concrete for indoor or outdoor use Artevia™. The winning entrants can choose to have the concrete delivered to a UK address, within 20 miles of one of Lafarge’s 97 UK Readymix sites!
Other events taking place during the month include site improvement activities, customer demonstrations and a variety of sustainability initiatives designed to reduce energy and minimise waste.
Managing Director for Lafarge Readymix Jeremy Greenwood, launching ‘Readymix Month’ and the launch competition said: “2009 was a difficult year in the construction industry. Early signs however, in spite of the recent adverse weather, suggest 2010 is going to be a better year as the economy stabilises and we enter some form of economic growth. In launching ‘Readymix Month’ there’s a serious message, but also a fun one! We want to draw attention to the value concrete has in the world around us. As the second most consumed commodity in the world today it’s a vital part of everything we do and everything we see around us. This is worth celebrating.”
Jeremy continued by saying: “At Lafarge we are passionate about innovation. We develop unique and world-leading technologies that improve an ancient product enabling it to do so much more in today’s world. We are proud of this and want to share it with our customers. That’s the serious side. On the fun side, we also thought we would launch a campaign to win up to 4M³ delivered from one of our 97 UK sites!! Competitions with Spa-day prizes or theatre tickets are all well and good but with this prize it will last a lifetime!”
