Feb. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- The new high-compaction pavers, purchased from leading manufacturers Volvo and Voegle, will be used on Lafarge’s existing road surfacing contracts on the M25, A46 and the South East  and Midland Frameworks. The new paving machines have the capability of laying at widths up to 11metres wide.

Commenting on the investment, Managing Director of Lafarge’s Asphalt and Pave division, which includes its Contracting arm, Chris Plant said:

“The investment of these six new paving machines, which are up to 20% more fuel efficient than previous models, will enable us to continue to delivery the high-quality finish and service on our existing contracting projects such as those involving the widening and re-surfacing of the M25 motorway and the A46. Although the industry, on the back of the economic crisis, has suffered considerably in the past 18 months we believe 2010 is going to be a strong year for our business.  Our investments in the latest technology and plant machinery, together with our ability to delivery the highest quality service on some of the UK’s most demanding re-surfacing projects will enable us to, not only, deliver on existing projects, alongside our partners, but win further contracts across a range of sectors.”
