New Jersey -- The New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) will honor women of influence at its annual Salute to Women Leaders event on Monday, March 8, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Robert B. Meyner Reception Center at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel.
Today more than ever before, women are impacting the business landscape. Women are innovating business models and reaching the top of their profession by seeking out opportunities, building their networks, voicing their needs and interests, continuously learning and developing their personal skills and capabilities, and getting as much experience as possible by taking on special projects and assignments while building on their personal style. The objective of the event is to recognize individuals who demonstrate professional excellence and support for the community of women who are shaping the economic future of New Jersey.
The Honorees include:
- Educator of the Year, Dr. Mary Hartman, Director of the Institute for Women’s Leadership at Rutgers University
- Rose & Scroll Award for outstanding volunteer service to NJAWBO
- Outstanding women leaders among NJAWBO’s corporate sponsors
The following new awards are being introduced this year:
- Outstanding Female CEO in the Nonprofit Sector
- Outstanding Woman in a Nontraditional Occupation, in the categories of law enforcement, construction and the military.
The event will also showcase works of art in an Art Show by NJAWBO members who are visual arts hobbyists. Cocktail hour entertainment will be provided by Pel Trio.
