Salt Lake City, February 2010 – If God is Truth, one would imagine all religions should be teaching truth in all of its forms. And although every priest, minister, imam, master, rabbi, swami and spiritual leader claim that they only teach the truth, the numerous contrasting religions and doctrines are evidence that the opposite is the case. And according to Alfonso Fernandez, the author of the book “If God is Truth”, the reason why all religions require their followers to accept their beliefs by faith alone (some even by imposition) is because no religion can guarantee that its beliefs about God are true. Thus, If God really is the truth there is a problem.
Jesus wisely recognized that if the teacher does not know what he/she is talking about, the disciples will, at best, know as much as the teacher. “A blind man cannot guide a blind man, can he? The pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher.” (Luke 6:39-40). Yesterday’s Pharisees and Scribes are best reflected as today’s priests and ministers.
The leadership of any organization is usually the main determinant of success or failure in any area of the human experience. Because of dissatisfaction with organized religion, church attendance has decrease significantly in the USA, Canada and Europe. The clergy’s ignorance of the truth or their unwillingness to tell this to their congregations has made the Christian church irrelevant.
The book “If God is Truth” explains what the clergy should be teaching, if only they knew. “If God is Truth” also helps its readers to stop their dependency on religious teachers for guidance. You can reject false religious practice and beliefs and still maintain a close relationship with the true God.
