Andrew Barker, Managing Director of Mangar International, has been re-elected to the Wales Board of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) for a three year period commencing January 2010. He joins a new Board of nine other prominent figures from across Wales.
Andrew Barker studied European Business Management at Middlesex University and at the Fachhoschule Reutlingen/Germany, graduating in 1989. He began his professional career as a management trainee at Volkswagen AG in Germany. There followed a variety of roles within the Volkswagen company culminating in Head of Marketing & Sales Planning Division for Volkswagen’s Asia Pacific region.
In March 2005 Andrew Barker was appointed General Manager at Mangar International and subsequently Managing Director in September of that year. In 2006 he was appointed Group Managing Director for Mangar International and its sister company MFC Survival.
With a strong background in both sales and marketing, Andrew Barker is keenly interested in all aspects of marketing and believes he can make a key contribution to CIM Wales during his tenure on the Board. “It is an honour for me to be on the Wales Board of CIM and I am looking forward to working with my Board colleagues to raise the standards of marketing in Wales to new heights.”
