Based in Germany, MAGE SOLAR is part of the fourth division of a large and well-established industry group, MAGE INDUSTRIE HOLDING AG. After working extensively with the Houston office of the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern, US, Inc. (GACC South), MAGE SOLAR officially launched in the US Market in January 2010.
MAGE SOLAR’s journey began in the US after establishing contact with the GACC South Houston office, which primarily focuses on renewable energy initiatives. At a conference in September 2009 in Florida arranged by the GACC South, MAGE SOLAR was able to present information about their company to over 150 industry attendees. Then, more than ten meetings with solar installers were arranged for the solar company.
MAGE SOLAR used the meetings not only as opportunities to network with potential clients, but as a way of conducting market research to determine how to best fine tune the system for solar needs in the US. The most innovative thing about MAGE SOLAR is their effective aluminum mounting system. Therefore, the company was determined to maintain their excellent system, no matter where it is used. The result was a slight change in mounting hardware; the company will now develop a roof hook that is larger due to different roof types that are used in the US.
Solar installers in the US are excited to work with a company that is so well established. Most solar companies are still young and working out the bumps that come with being a newly-established company. MAGE SOLAR’s parent company is over 35 years old, which brings stability, a large database of industry contacts, a wide geographical reach and unsurpassed product development. Their products also come with extensive warranties.
At their most recent meeting in the US in mid-December, MAGE SOLAR spent time with five different integrators from the Florida conference in order to further introduce them to the company’s system and all of its solutions. The company was also able to introduce the integrators to MAGE SOLAR’s online estimator – a program in which one can enter all of the data and measurements about where the solar mounting system will be placed and receive all of the specifications for what would be needed to make the system work. The results of the meeting included MAGE SOLAR’s first US purchases in Florida and Pennsylvania.
In order to further improve the system and stay in close contact with the needs of the US industry, MAGE SOLAR has created a US-based, MAGE SOLAR Advisory Board, which includes the company who made the first purchase.
