When your baby is very small, go for a brisk walk or run in a park or neighborhood while pushing baby in a stroller. Just make sure that your baby is adequately protected from the weather. As your baby grows and becomes more active, you can be active alongside her or him. Join in your toddler's play or sports activities so that you can burn some fat while bonding with your child at the same time.

It goes without saying that you have to control your diet. It is very tempting to keep to the calorie intake you had while you were pregnant. You should not indulge your cravings any more if you are to lose any weight. If your baby is very young it will be difficult to find the time to make healthy home cooked meals for yourself. Cook ahead for the week whenever you have the time. Keep a lot of fruits handy so you can bite into an apple or a pear if you feel like a snack.

If you are making applesauce for your baby at home, which I recommend you do rather than purchase from a store, why don't you make a bigger batch. You can freeze it in portions and use it to sweeten your cereal. You could also use it to reduce the amount of butter or oil required while baking.
