Ann Brown, former Arizona Daily Star editorial page editor, has joined The Caliber Group as senior media relations specialist responsible for newswriting, editing and managing media relations for the firm and its clients, announced Linda Welter Cohen, APR, CEO of The Caliber Group.
“Ann’s knowledge of the greater Tucson community and longstanding relationships with business, media and community leaders complement our agency’s strengths,” said Cohen. “Ann is a first-rate professional, and we are thrilled she has joined our public relations team.”
Brown left the Star in November after 12 years with the daily newspaper. Prior to heading the Editorial Page, she edited Caliente, the Star’s weekly entertainment section, and was a Features reporter. Brown received first place in the “Best column: Analysis or Commentary” category in the 2009 Better Newspapers Contest, presented by the Arizona Newspapers Association and the Arizona Associated Press Managing Editors.
A Tucson native and University of Arizona alumna, Brown worked for the Tucson, San Antonio and San Francisco chambers of commerce in communications and economic development.
