Criminal Law 101: Implications for Professional Nursing Practice

Nursing-Jurisprudence.com presents legal webinar for professional nursing practices on March 17th, 2010 at 1:00PM Eastern.

Feb. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- This is the second webinar in a three part series for nurses in March 2010. This 75 minute webinar will review criminal law and the criminal law process and procedure in general. Nurses are frontline healthcare providers who have extensive contact with sick and often emotionally and physically compromised pediatric and geriatric patients. This contact often extends into a patient’s home and quite frequently involves their family and may include access to financial and other personal information. For these reasons, the criminal convictions and the criminal history and behavior of nurses, nursing students, and NCLEX-Applicants is becoming highly relevant to healthcare organizations, nursing schools, and State Nursing Boards.

Participants will learn about how criminal law and criminal charges and convictions impact suitability for employment, initial licensure or relicensure, and clinical placement for nursing students. Attendees will be provided with practical tips on how to proactively dodge the legal minefields associated with criminal law.
