Making a move from plain and simple to patterned and complex doesn’t have to be either dramatic or traumatic. A beautiful cream room can be delicately adapted by hanging curtains of any pattern or print style as the cream is a neutral capable of absorbing any colour or design. In fact, the inclusion of only one item so totally at odds with the overall scheme can have a marvellous impact where each sets off the other to their best effect. Similarly, a bold wallpaper with coordinating curtains, and furniture in a block of accent colour or a complementary neutral would be equally spectacular.
