The contest is open to students from various Universities and will be held during February - March 2010. Participation in the contest doesn’t presuppose any prior technical knowledge. Cyber Security is increasingly becoming a major issue of national importance and the primary objective of this contest is to educate the student community about secure coding practices, cyber security, cyber crimes and cyber laws.

CTF contests are designed to serve as an educational tool to give participants hands-on experience in securing computer applications and networks and the knowledge to counter a cyber attack. CTF is a specially designed strategic game that mimics real world security challenges and promises participants to develop skills that are much in demand in this cyber age. Therefore, CTF fills a critical void in information security education.
No prior experience in cyber security is needed for participating. The prerequisite is knowledge of any programming language. The first phase in the contest is a 3-week learning round. A set of questions and tasks will be given to contesting teams and they will need to submit responses in 3 weeks. We shall extend support to all participating teams in the learning phase. The winners will be decided after two more rounds. Contestants can participate in the contest from their own campuses and are not required to travel to the host campus. Each team needs to have a faculty from the college as their mentor. The mentors of the top team will receive special prizes.
There are exciting prizes for the contestants and for the college with maximum teams registered. The winning institution from across the country will also receive a prestigious ‘Amrita VeriSign Champion’s Prize’. For more details on the event visit http://inctf.amrita.ac.in
