The Island of Ko Samui, is in the Surat Thani Province often, simply called “Samui” by locals, and is the second most famous Island in Thailand after Phuket. The Island of Koh Samui is famous round the globe for its rich natural resources, white sandy beaches, coral reefs and coconut trees. All kinds of water sports, a beach lover can think of are available here. Also, parallel to the beach, clustered in the middle of the strip, lies Samui's greatest concentration of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and of course, fast food and convenience stores.
Other beach attractions near Ko Samui include, Natien Beach that is located at the south and east, in front of Ko Samui Aquarium, Tiger and Zoo. Fisherman's Village, located on the north part of the island on the way from Mae Nam to Big Buddha also leads to a small beautiful beach. Another beach near Ko Samui is the Thong Takian, located very near to Lamai beach about 5-10 minutes and the sights of beauty continue throughout the rest of the region.
