December 23, 2009—East Meets West Catering’s Principal and Chef Aaron Kiefer will spend this Christmas serving dinner to the homeless.
“After spending the past week preparing traditional Jewish and Christmas holiday foods for my family and friends, I realized how grateful I was for the past year in which my business really started to grow and thrive,” explains Chef Aaron. “I felt compelled to give back to the community in some way and when Arlene Rosenthal told me about the Christmas at the Convention Center, I signed up! I am looking forward to helping make those less fortunate’s holiday a good one.”
Christmas at the Convention Center is presented by Well in the Desert, the Auen Foundation and the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. On Christmas morning from 11 a.m. through 2 p.m. volunteers will serve dinner to the homeless among a bevy of activities including mariachi music, gift-giving by Santa and Ms. Claus, delicious food prepared by Savourys, face painting, arts and crafts, puppet shows and a ventriloquist. The event is free and open to all in need.
