Thousands gathered today at the Presidential Palace in Haiti to mourn and mark the one month anniversary of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck on January 12th. The quake claimed thousands of lives and has displaced an estimated 300,000 people. In the weeks following the quake aid has poured in from all over the world. At USA SHADE & Fabric Structures we recently completed our own campaign to raise funds for Haitian relief. With the company matching contributions from employees, USA SHADE was able to raise a total of $22,628.00. In the first 48 hours alone, we reached the $10,000 mark which showed the great enthusiasm for the cause. On Tuesday, February 9th American Red Cross representative Emily Allbright stopped by our Dallas headquarters to receive the check from Human Resources Director Dixon Myers and Chief Financial Officer Jeffrey Sarembock. We are proud to have contributed as so many American businesses and individuals have done and hope to see Haiti heal and prosper in the future.
