For these two days many eminent communication professionals occupied the speaker’s desk. Names like Cristina Gallach, Garrett Johston, Paul Holmes, Maxim Behar, and Thomas Missong greatly shared their knowledge, observations and insights, regarding different aspects of communication, its influence, development and future.

The program of the Forum included four topical sections and they were:
Social & corporate web communication and media
Political communication
Communications of change
Marketing communication

The section speakers are communicational practitioners from different fields of business and economy and they offered various discussion themes such as “E-democracy, e-activism, e-revolution”, “Corporate blogging: a dying fad?”, “Is there any future for traditional media?”, “Crisis communication - staying clear of turbulence” and others.

Three case studies were presented as well. French Dassault Aviation stressed on their approach to measurements, Casio America emphasized on Social media and the way of simplifying it. And Greek GEFYRA gave prominence to the relation between the companies and the environment.

In the course of the Forum one idea was creeping into everyone’s head. Paul Holmes said it aloud. “We are witnesses to the end of transparent and the starting of authentic era in Public Relations. The choices are to seize the opportunity or to perish.”

This year edition of the First World Forum “Communication on Top” is over. Many PR specialists, communicators and managers discussed how to make communications more effective, customer-oriented, trustful and approachable; is it possible to adapt them to different cultures, religions and social groups; and how to create a platform where good practices, latest researches, ideas and innovations could be shared.

The organizers hope every participant took something for the brain from this event and are looking forward to the Second World Forum “Communication on Top” that will take place on February 28th – March 1st, 2011 again in Davos, Switzerland. Meanwhile the next year event preparation has already started with the New Committee Board formation which has to be finished till the end of February, 2009.
