Dempsey Dyer have invested in a set of Haffner machinery products to provide improved efficiencies, increased manufacturing capacity and greater redundancy for their PVC window, door and conservatory fabrication operations. Dempsey Dyer aim to have the new machinery fully functional by the end of March.
Dempsey Dyer's strong financial position has enabled them to invest heavily into both their PVC and Timber manufacturing operations with the Haffner purchases a direct result of this. Increasing manufacturing capacity will enable Dempsey Dyer to move forward, gaining new customers whilst improving efficiencies.
A Haffner SBA 4 Machining Centre will be at the forefront of the investment and will provide a valuable backup to the currently operating BJM Machining Centre, therefore, increasing redundancy whilst increasing manufacturing capacity and efficiencies.
Dempsey Dyer's PVC windows and PVC doors will benefit from the introduction of the Haffner SBA 4 through increased efficiencies relating to batching rules applied to orders. PVC production staff will be able to decide whether to send an entire job to one machine or split jobs up to allow for one machine to cut frames and another to cut sashes.
Also to be introduced to Dempsey Dyer's PVC window, door and conservatory fabrication plant will be a Haffner 4 head inline welder. Providing the same benefits as the SBA 4 Machining Centre, the 4 head inline welder will increase welding capacity whilst providing fault tolerance for existing welders.
A Haffner Corner Cleaner and a Haffner Bead Saw will be introduced to ensure no area of the PVC window, door and conservatory fabrication line is left vulnerable due to an increase in fabrication demand.
Dempsey Dyer have a strong sales forecast for 2010 and 2011 and therefore the decision was taken to increase manufacturing capacity sooner rather than later. Dempsey Dyer are a forward thinking company with a strong financial position, enabling them to make decisions based on future trends.
With a strong emphasis during 2010 on lean manufacturing, Dempsey Dyer are investing not only in new machinery, but also in their staff. Lean manufacturing courses are been run for key production staff to provide a more structured workforce.
