PURECOL® PURIFIED COLLAGEN AT 3 MG/ML
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – February 11, 2010 – Advanced BioMatrix, a leader in the life science three dimensional (3D) applications for tissue culture, cell assay, and cell proliferation announces that it offers PureCol®, formerly named Vitrogen® or Vitrogen®-100, a widely used collagen product.
“PureCol® and Vitrogen® is the same product – only the name of the product was changed”, states David Bagley, President of Advanced BioMatrix. “The trademark for Vitrogen® was changed to PureCol® in 2004 due to trademark transfer reasons. The raw material sourcing, purification and processing remained unchanged yielding the high quality, lot-to-lot consistent collagen product that customers have used in their research experiments for many years”.
PureCol® collagen is a 3 mg/ml collagen solution with approximately 97% Type I collagen with the remainder of the collagen being comprised of Type III collagen. This product consists of soluble atelo-collagen in 0.01 N HCI with a pH of approximately 2.0
PureCol® collagen is ideal for coating of surfaces, providing preparation of thin layers for culturing cells, or use as a solid gel. The product is provided in a 100 mL volume and is contained in user-friendly packaging for use and storage. PureCol®
