PRLog (Press Release) - Feb 10, 2010 -
Water knowledge will be flowing between Australia and the Netherlands next month, when a delegation of Dutch water experts visits Australia (7-12 March).
Austrade Holland’s Business Development Manager, Sjoerd Rameckers, said the joint initiative between Austrade and Royal Dutch embassy would seek to increase exchange of knowledge, contacts and networks, two-way trade, and investment into Australia.
“Holland is sending some it’s best and brightest to Australia, including market leaders in the water space, such as Norit (state-of-the-art purification technologies) and Deltares (delta technology),”said Mr Rameckers.
“Australia and the Netherlands, have a lot to learn from one another. The Dutch are internationally recognised for their leadership in water technology, management and delta technology (the integrated management of interconnected land and water systems).
“Similarly, Australia is highly regarded for leadership in areas such as dealing with droughts, water quality research, policy and public communications around water usage, all of which have potential applications in Holland.
“Australia's water expertise is vast and the international growth opportunities are significant.
“Global companies like Australia’s Worley Parsons (one of the world’s top design and infrastructure companies), Leighton Holdings and GHD are internationally-focused, demonstrating Australian capability to deliver projects across the expanding water, wastewater and water resources market worldwide.
Others such as Phoslock (water technology), Rubicon (world-leading irrigation and water management technology), Multitrode (specialists in water and wastewater lift station control & monitoring) and Australian Innovative Systems (water chlorine generators) already supply Europe with a wide array of high quality products and services.
“It’s great to see the fantastic level of interest in this mission and we know that the participants will be actively engaging with Ozwater, the Australian Water Association, Water Industry Alliance, state ministers, universities and Australian companies,” Said Mr Rameckers.
The mission will visit Brisbane (March 7-10), Melbourne (March 11) and Adelaide (March 12).
