BOISE, Idaho – In an ongoing effort to keep product manufacturing and jobs based in the United States, ShavWet is proud to announce it has made the commitment to offer high-quality, affordably priced American made products. The Idaho-based company, which was established in 2008, offers beauty and grooming products for men and women.
“It has long been our goal to create a great new brand that is 100 percent Made in the USA,” Bobby Porter, ShavWet founder and CEO, says. “We could certainly have our products made overseas to improve our profit margins, but then we’d just be another manufacturer exporting jobs. Who can feel good about that? We need to end our nation’s dependence on cheap foreign imports, and that won’t happen unless small grassroots companies like ours try and make things here.”
The company offers the ShavWet Shower Mirror and a complementary Ultimate ShavWet Cream. Both are sold online at http://www.ShavWet.com. The cream is made by Northwest Cosmetic Labs of Idaho Falls, Idaho. The mirror, which Porter invented, is manufactured by Tooling Express in Sun Valley, Idaho.
Porter started working on his shower mirror several years ago. He came up with a number of different versions and handed them out to friends and family members to try before choosing his current design. “I have always loved to build things and tinker in the shop. After tweaking prototypes in my garage for 15 years, I created a “Made in the USA” mirror design that is more functional and more portable than all the other Chinese-made shower shaving mirrors on the market,” Porter says. “Now, it is my sincere hope that we can keep manufacturing our products here in the USA, and we can if American consumers choose products like ours over foreign imports.”
Porter has successfully built his customer base through grassroots efforts. It is his hope that the millions of Americans who are struggling to adjust to the new global economy will see ShavWet’s success. “We want to succeed so that others can learn the path of independence, and the American spirit,” Porter says.
