25 February sees the opening of MUCH – a new play by Hannah Patterson - at The Cock Tavern Theatre. Set against a London backdrop, MUCH tells the tale of a young, ambitious woman pushing the boundaries of privacy with her art, and explores the loss of innocence in a ruthless world. The cast for this look into four contemporary lives is Caroline Corrie (Helen), Roger Ringrose (Roy) Will Irvine (Tom) and Leonie Hill (Sylvie), and it is directed by Fringe First winner Hannah Eidinow. Previews from Tuesday 23 February – opening night Thursday 25 February. www.cocktaverntheatre.com/
Helen is about to marry Roy when Tom, his son, arrives, stirring up memories of the past. With him is Sylvie, a budding artist, whose presence exposes the dysfunctional ties that bind a domineering tycoon, his forsaken son and the central object of their affection. A poignant play about a broken couple and the road that must eventually lead a son out of his father’s shadow.
Hannah Patterson has written several short plays and has a short film currently in production. MUCH is her first full-length play. Award-winning director Hannah Eidinow is Associate Director of The Pleasance, and has directed plays in London, Edinburgh, New York and Belfast. Hannah has collaborated with the RSC (Comedy Season 2006), was selected to participate in Katie Mitchell's Director's Course at the National Theatre, and is an Associate Artist of The Miniaturists.
