Winnipeg Real Estate Market Update for February 2010

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 9, 2010 - Winnipeg REALTORS® issue monthly press releases regarding the state of Winnipeg's Real Estate Market.  Bo Kauffmann of Remax Performance Realty summarizes the release this way:

"Although the numbers of sales are below 500 units for the month, the “dollar-total” was, for the first time ever in a January, over $100 Million.  The fact that sales were lower is a reflection on the lack of homes on the market.  (As I had recently indicated in a video, available homes in Winnipeg numbered just over 500)

These lack of listings also resulted in the fact that 35% of homes sold above the list price, and the average residential-detached home price was up 17% over Jan 2009.

As usual, the most active sections of the market (residential detached) were in the $150K to $250 K range, making up 41% of the sales."
