Photo-discs containing images of those meaningful moments shared by couples when their romance is first blooming are now replacing champagne and bouquets of red roses as the must- have Valentine’s gift of 2010.
“We have been getting a growing number of requests for romantic photo discs as Valentine’s Day gets closer,” said David Houghton, MD of Cheshire based photo-scanning company Scanero. “It really is a very individual and highly romantic gift.
“The trend originally started last year but it seems to have really caught on this year with a growing number of individuals looking for an unusual and very personal gift that they can enjoy for years to come," he added speaking from his Northwich HQ.
“Clients come along and give us a selection of meaningful photos from their relationships, shots from childhood and images of significant birthdays as well, of course, as a range of shots of the loving couple together.
“We then scan them to disc in the order dictated by the client and he or she then presents this unique pictorial record of their romance to their other half on the big day. It just goes to show that romance is alive and well in 2010.”
Although based in Cheshire, Scanero is taking orders for ‘Memories for Lovers’ from all over the country.
“Our main line of work is scanning collections of photos to disc to ensure individuals have an affordable means of protecting and storing their precious photographic memories. But the Memories for Lovers idea has come about as a direct result of public demand.
Prices for the Valentine’s Day Discs start at £19.99 (for 150 scanned images)
