About WATTO Distinctive Metal Wear
Started in 2009, husband and wife team Mary Spencer and Jon “WATTO” Watson created WATTO Distinctive Metal Wear, focusing on creating custom made belt buckles and accessories for everyday street couture.
Jon worked as a graphic designer for 15+ years and hated sitting behind a computer. He knew that he needed to work with his hands and be creative, so he decided to make a career change and began an apprenticeship as a welder. In 2007 he bought his own equipment and infused his creativity into his work making beautiful metal sculptures, lighting and other functional works.
In February of 2009, after Mary’s company shut its Tucson doors, the couple decided to start their own business, launching their line in August at POOL- the famous Vegas Fashion tradeshow.
WATTO Distinctive Metal Wear has already been seen on the 2009 Backstage Artist Lounge Tour and at the 2010 Golden Globes. For more information and to view their custom designs, check out WattoOnline.com.
